The Collective Agreement negotiations were successfully concluded, and on 21 November 2024, Oyu Tolgoi LLC and the Trade Union Committees jointly signed a Collective Agreement aimed at improving employees' working conditions. The agreement will remain valid for a period of three years. We are pleased to announce that this Collective Agreement enhances benefits for our employees and their families.
For both parties, the priority of the Collective Agreement was to significantly increase employees' take-home salaries and wages while further improving social protection and employment conditions. The improvements agreed upon within the scope of this priority will positively affect all employees, though the impact may vary depending on their work location and conditions.
Within the framework of the Collective Agreement, provisions across 10 key areas covering remuneration, benefits, incentives, social protection, training and development, safety, and more were discussed and resolved. The following are the major outcomes and benefits for our employees.
Highlights of the outcome that directly impact salary:
- Provide increase of the monthly base salary of Oyu Tolgoi LLC employees by 200 US dollars in 2025, the first year of the Collective Agreement.
- Overtime pay to be provided at a rate of 1.6 times the average salary rate for employees working on long roster at the site, for hours worked in excess of 8 hours per day.
- Night shift pay to be increased to 1.3 times the average salary rate, up from the current 1.2 times the average salary rate.
- The Meal and Transportation allowance for employees working in the Ulaanbaatar, Dalanzadgad, and Khanbogd offices to be increased to MNT 1 million.
- The parties to collaborate on a project to enhance the timesheet logging and payroll system, with the goal of simplifying payroll accounting. (This initiative is to jointly review and improve the payroll accounting process for long-term leave.)
The attached presentation below provides detailed information on the changes and improvements outlined above, including their terms and conditions of implementation. Upon the ratification of the Collective Agreement by the State Registration office, the parties will organize in-person introductory sessions for all employees. During these sessions, employees will have the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification regarding the implementation and outcome of the agreement. A detailed schedule for the introductory meetings will be announced through your respective team leaders.
